Lead Database Administrators oversee the design, build, and operation of data management systems.
Main duties and responsibilities:

● Lead the design, development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of Upgrade’s data management systems
● Lead the development of standards and procedures to maximize DBMS performance, scale-ability, resilience, security, and data integrity
● Install, upgrade, and manage database applications
● Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards
Qualifications:
-
● Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related course
● 5+ years of experience administering production, always-on, high throughput, OLTP RDBMS with the last 3+ years administering Oracle/MySQL databases
● Proficient in Oracle 11g+ / MySQL 5.5+ database servers running on-premise data center environments
● Proficient in Oracle/MySQL backup & recovery, upgrade, patching, and performance tuning
● Advanced knowledge of SQL query execution, execution analysis & optimization, indexing strategies, partitioning etc.
● Advanced knowledge of SQL schema modeling and evolution
● Proficient in various RDBMS replication strategies
● Solid Linux fundamentals including kernel and OS tuning, as they relate to DB performance and security
● Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
● Highly motivated and self driven
● Enjoys learning new technologies and applying them into solving problems
● Enjoys collaborating and working in small teams
● Good at multitasking and thrive in fast paced environments
● Methodical, thorough, and solution oriented
Nice to have:

• Experience with Oracle RAC or MySQL geo-redundant database
• Familiarity with Data Privacy Act, PCI DSS, and other security practices

• AWS Certified Database Specialty
• OCP/OCA Database 11g/12c Administrator Certification
• OCP/OCA MySQL 5.6/5.7 Administrator Certification
